Mobility and homecare retailers, selling products and services for the elderly and disabled
The mobility-related market is one of the fastest growing sectors in retail and demand for Ableworld's products is increasing as the population ages and lives longer. Their aim is to provide caring solutions for their customers enabling them to enjoy greater independence and more comfortable and active lives.
From their retail outlets they offer customers a large selection of quality mobility and homecare products at value-for-money prices and exceptional levels of service and aftercare. Their products which range from walking sticks to hi-spec mobility scooters, from back supports to stairlifts, are all designed to give their customers greater independence and improved quality of life.
Ableworld’s in-house stairlift business provides a complete service from initial assessment through to the fitting and maintenance of high quality reliable stairlifts.
A Full Ableworld Franchise offers prospective Franchise Partners the opportunity to invest in both sides of the business - a retail store outlet and the accompanying stairlift business in a defined Franchise Territory.
Skills and knowledge required
Franchisees come from a wide variety of backgrounds and experience. They have had backgrounds in retail, healthcare, the armed services, general management, and engineering to name but a few. As for qualifications, whilst some have strong academic qualifications, there are also equally successful people whose skills and qualifications are more experienced based.
Our ideal franchise owners are people who have the desire, energy and determination to build their own ethically-based business in the mobility sector. They will have an enthusiastic customer service mentality and want to make a difference to people’s lives through providing quality products and services that people can afford.
Full training, advice and support is given.
An Ableworld franchise consists of two complimentary income streams a retail outlet and a stairlift business. Because of the nature of the skills required this franchise is ideal for a couple to manage with one person concentrating on the retail outlet and one on the stairlift business.
A Full Ableworld Franchise Fee is £30,000 + VAT.
In addition, one will need approximately £70,000-£75,000 for a medium-sized store a medium-sized retail outlet and stairlift franchise.

BRITISH FRANCHISE ASSOCIATION
In 1977, the major franchise companies in the UK decided to set up their own association. The British Franchise Association (bfa), was formed to act in the interests of the industry as a whole in assessing and accrediting franchising companies as those which meet its criteria for the structure of the franchise business, the terms of the contract between franchisor and franchisee, the testing of the system and its success as a franchise.
On this site, we only feature franchisors who are either:
Full Members of the bfa
Full Members are established franchised businesses with a proven trading and franchising record. They are prepared to have their reputation examined by the bfa, and have an established network of franchisees.
Associate Members of the bfa
Associate Members have proven their ability to launch and support at least one franchised outlet for 12 months and are now in the business of building their network. There will be few franchisees whose experience you can research and a short period of time over which the business has been tested.
