JASPERS CORPORATE CATERING
bfa Associate Member
Providing highest quality food for office catering, business lunches and business events from professional kitchens
A Jasper’s catering franchise is an opportunity to build a catering management business which looks after the catering needs of companies in the UK - providing delivered catering for their daily meetings and other corporate events. There are also opportunities to manage customers' on-site catering facilities and supply state-of-the-art vending solutions.
This is not a retail franchise i.e a sandwich shop. It is run from a unit with a professional kitchen and food is delivered in refrigrated vans. The average value of a Jasper's order is £64 against £4 for a retail order. Overheads are around 60% lower than they would be with a retail franchise. Each franchise is sized around 15,000 potential customers.
In 2003, the founders of Jasper’s, Nathan and Paul, spotted the opportunity to build a successful corporate catering business using unique systems and providing exceptional products and service. After two years, Nathan and Paul saw that Jasper’s corporate catering services were in huge demand and the business was ever-increasing. They looked at the target market and realised that the business model they were using could easily be replicated in areas throughout the UK. Work on the franchise model began and in 2007, a pilot franchise was established and was a success from the outset. Jaspers has since expanded to about 20 branches across the UK.
Basic Information:
Skills and knowledge required
You don’t need to have a background in food or catering to own a Jasper’s franchise as you will receive full production training.
Ideally they are looking for partnerships - either couples, business partnerships or you would need to employ somebody so one of you can focus on sales and the other on operations.
You need to be passionate about delivering high standards and outstanding customer service. You must want to be successful, take responsibility, be 100% committed and follow Jasper’s systems and processes.
The Business Management System will take care of many administrative functions such as invoicing. This enables you to focus on growing your business
You are supported by a Personal Assistant. Recruited, trained and managed by Jasper's HQ (where they also work from) they are a fully fledged team member who manages your diary to make sure you always have sales appointments booked in and ensures your customers are looked after.

BRITISH FRANCHISE ASSOCIATION
In 1977, the major franchise companies in the UK decided to set up their own association. The British Franchise Association (bfa), was formed to act in the interests of the industry as a whole in assessing and accrediting franchising companies as those which meet its criteria for the structure of the franchise business, the terms of the contract between franchisor and franchisee, the testing of the system and its success as a franchise.
On this site, we only feature franchisors who are either:
Full Members of the bfa
Full Members are established franchised businesses with a proven trading and franchising record. They are prepared to have their reputation examined by the bfa, and have an established network of franchisees.
or
Associate Members of the bfa
Associate Members have proven their ability to launch and support at least one franchised outlet for 12 months and are now in the business of building their network. There will be few franchisees whose experience you can research and a short period of time over which the business has been tested.
